JWA Welcomes participants of OC Career Academy

John Wayne Airport hosted the inaugural cohort of the County Executive Office Human Resource Services OC Career Academy (OCCA) program. OCCA is a new program that provides opportunities for recent high school graduates to receive on-the-job training in preparation for a career path with the County of Orange. Participants learn about the many career opportunities at the County, and the program allows them to develop their communication, customer service, and technology skills, as well as realize their potential career development and growth.

During their visit, the participants engaged in a panel discussion with JWA’s Public Affairs team, where they gained valuable insights into Communications, Customer Relations, Technology Communications, Government Relations, and Public and Media Relations. The discussion highlighted their various career pathways, providing advice and inspiration.

Following the panel, participants had the unique opportunity to tour the airfield and fire station, experiencing firsthand the behind-the-scenes operations that keep the Airport running safely and efficiently.
