Ask anyone who has ever been to New York City and they will share at least one magical memory from their visit, and most will have many. If you’ve never been, you will soon have the opportunity to create your own memories. Beginning October 15, Delta Air Lines will be flying nonstop from John Wayne Airport to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Now that it’s more convenient to fly to New York, what will you do to create those Instagram worthy moments? The beauty of the City is its incredible ability to make one feel as though they have been on multiple vacations in just one day, week or weekend.
Many would argue that autumn is the best time to visit. The cooler temperatures and the brilliant shades of the leaves in Central Park, along with festivals and farmers’ markets with apples of every flavor, the city turns into an actual autumn wonderland. The holidays are also a special time to visit the Big Apple, from the parades to the decorated store windows, and street vendors selling hot peanuts to ice skating at Rockefeller Center. Perhaps you are feeling intellectual and crave a little history. New York has countless amazing museums, or you can simply walk around and soak in the diverse architecture. Of course there are shows galore on Broadway, but did you know there is a vast network of “Off-Broadway” theaters as well? It’s enough to interest even the most finicky of theater connoisseurs.
You must be warned though, curbing your shopaholic tendencies while in New York will be a lost cause as you wander through the largest department store in the United States, or the high-end boutiques along 5th Avenue. Hint: Pack comfortable walking shoes, and save extra room in your bag for all those purchases.
