Want to take a last minute vacation for the 4th of July? If so, there’s no need to join the anticipated 46.9 million Americans planning to drive over the holiday. Leave the car at home and book your DIRECT flight from John Wayne Airport (JWA) to one of the nation’s best 4th of July firework shows.
According to USA Today, San Francisco, Addison, Texas and Seattle were rated in the Top 10 of the nation’s greatest shows. The best news – JWA has several direct, non-stop flights to each of those recognized destinations.
If you want to stay in the state, San Francisco Bay provides one of the most beautiful backdrops for a fireworks display, with views of the city skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge. Fireworks are launched from a barge and can be seen from all over the Bay.
You may not have heard of Addison “Kaboom Town” Texas, but it is right outside of Dallas and has been named among the top fireworks shows in the country for more than three decades. It’s a small town with a big show, including a festival, air show and of course, fireworks.
The “Seafair Summer Fourth” celebration in Seattle provides a fun festival prior to a 21-minute fireworks display over Lake Union. The show features a unique water-based opening display followed by nearly 8,500 pounds of fireworks choreographed to a Seafair musical score.
Of course, if you’re flying, leave the firework displays to the professionals. Fireworks are not allowed on airplanes, in checked or carry-on baggage
