John Wayne Airport is honored to be the recipient of a sculpture generously donated to the Airport’s permanent art collection. The sculpture, created by renowned artist Betty Gold, is titled VOLAR, which means “to fly.” It is located on Baggage Carousel 1, in Terminal A.
“Helping Hands” Receives National Award
The National Association of Counties (NACo) presented John Wayne Airport with an Achievement Award for Best in Category – Human Services for the Airport’s “Helping Hands” program. The program provides individualized assistance, easing the stress associated with airport travel for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other hidden disabilities.

30th Annual Student Art Contest
John Wayne Airport invites Orange County public and private school students, grades K-12, to enter the 30th Annual John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest. Bob Hope USO Patriotic Boat Wins Award!
Orange County Bob Hope USO at John Wayne Airport volunteers had the opportunity to participate in the Newport Beach 4th of July Old Glory Boat Parade. Thanks to a generous donation of a yacht for the event, the patriotically decorated boat won the “Spirit” award.
