In early 2016, the County initiated the Terminals A and B Improvements Project – a phased, three-year endeavor with numerous safety, code compliance, comfort, convenience and aesthetic improvements to the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. Our most recent completed improvements include:

New Nursing Mother’s Lounge

Mothers traveling through John Wayne Airport have access to a new Nursing Mother’s Lounge. Located post-security near Gate 12, the private space features comfortable seating, a sink with running water, electrical outlets, adjustable lighting and artwork from JWA’s annual aviation-themed student art contest.

New Animal Relief Area

The installation of a new animal relief area located in the secure area of the Riley Terminal across from Gate 12, was completed in November 2016. The area is equipped with synthetic grass, waste disposal bags, a wash down hose and drainage.

There are also animal relief areas on the Arrival (lower) Level, outside of Terminal A near the entrance to Parking Structure A1 and outside of Terminal C near the entrance to Parking Structure C.

Refurbished Restrooms

bathroom1The existing Departure (upper) Level restrooms across from Gates 8 and 9, and the Arrival (lower) Level restrooms in baggage claim were reconstructed to meet all current accessibility codes. Each restroom received a complete fixture upgrade. All new toilets, urinals, flush valves, sinks, faucets, soap and towel dispensers installed were selected to meet current ADA codes.
