It’s official. JWA has been rated the best airport in the U.S. by MONEY magazine in their annual Best in Travel rankings. This is the first time MONEY has included JWA in its annual list of the 15 Best Airports in the U.S.
To find the best, MONEY analyzed 80 of the nation’s top airports, taking into account customer experience scores from J.D. Power, reader reviews from Travel + Leisure, on-time arrival rates, security delays, and traveler amenities such as shops and restaurants.
JWA was ranked number one among large airports in 2017 by J.D. Power, scoring particularly high in parking and access, as well as the security screening process. The Airport also provides a number of superior guest amenities, including 24 restaurants and free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the Terminal.
John Wayne Airport also was recognized for creating a feeling of serenity, according to J.D. Power’s airport research team. The Airport limits TV monitors, keeps the volume and frequency of overhead announcements low, and even repainted the Terminal to neutral, stress-reducing tones.
