Success at First John Wayne Airport Job Fair

John Wayne Airport held its first Job Fair on April 26, and received more than 60 job seekers.

Thirteen Airport tenants sent representatives to the job fair, which was open to the public. Participants included Airport Terminal Services (ATS), representing Frontier, Spirit, WestJet, and Air Canada, Avis/Budget, Fly Away Foods LLC, Hertz, HMS Host, Hoag Health, Hudson Group, LAZ Parking, McDonald’s, Paradies Lagardère, Sierra Aviation Group, and Unifi, representing Delta and Allegiant.

The Airport partnered with the One Stop Center in Orange County, who shared our flyer, translated in multiple languages, to their contacts, including the Employment Development Department of CA. The EDD provided a sign language interpreter to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing folks in attendance.

Our first job fair proved to be a success; resulting in six individuals being hired with many more applicants in process. Motivated by the response and engagement with local job seekers in Orange County, the Airport is planning another event later this year.
