John Wayne Airport was a Community Sponsor for the 2022 Costa Mesa – Newport Harbor Lions Club 75th Annual Fish Fry and Carnival held June 3-5. The Fish Fry is a Costa Mesa tradition, acting as the iconic “kick-off” to summer.
Thousands of Orange County residents attended the festivities, enjoying Alaska Cod battered and fried, carnival rides and games, live bands, and community booths. JWA’s sponsored booth featured giveaways and a trivia contest with questions about the Airport. Staff enjoyed the opportunity to speak with locals and engage the community in a fun and educational activity.
Each year the event helps raise money for numerous local and international charities, including CHOC Hospital, The Boys & Girls Clubs, Blind Children’s Learning Center, Lion’s Sight & Hearing Foundation, Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, Save Our Youth (SOY), CM Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, Orangewood Children’s Home, Knots of Love, Explorer Scouts, and CM & Estancia High School Athletics.
