2021 Calendar Features AirPAWS Ambassadors
John Wayne Airport has released its 2021 calendar, highlighting AirPAWS therapy dogs. Each month features one of the special therapy dogs from OC Animal Allies photographed throughout the Terminal, taking advantage of the many amenities we provide.
Waste Amnesty Event Receives Industry Award
John Wayne Airport’s “Waste Amnesty Event” received an Environmental Achievement Award honorable mention in the Environmental Improvement with Limited Resources category from the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA).
General Aviation Improvement Plan Moves Forward
After years of extensive environmental planning and community outreach, the Orange County Board of Supervisors awarded long-term leases to two full-service Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) at John Wayne Airport; Clay Lacy Aviation, Inc. for the Northwest Full-Service FBO, and Aviation Consultants, Inc., doing business as ACI Jet, for the Northeast Full-Service FBO. Jay’s Aircraft Maintenance was awarded the limited-service FBO lease located on the Southwest parcel.

New Sculpture Brings Creative Sense of Flight to Airport
John Wayne Airport is honored to be the recipient of a sculpture generously donated to the Airport’s permanent art collection. The sculpture, created by renowned artist Betty Gold, is titled VOLAR, which means “to fly.” It is located on Baggage Carousel 1, in Terminal A.
Vital Services Continue at John Wayne Airport
Unfortunately, the coronavirus has taken a serious toll on Airport operations, tenants and stakeholders. We don’t know when this will end, but it will end, and we will get through it together.
New Noise Event Collection and Management System
Viewpoint, a user-friendly platform for submitting noise events, was recently launched at John Wayne Airport, replacing the more labor-intensive email system. The new portal system, which is fully integrated with the Airport’s Noise and Operations Management System (ANOMS), has already proven to be a success. The streamlined system automatically submits noise events, improving consistency and facilitating more efficient data collection.
