30th Annual Student Art Contest
John Wayne Airport invites Orange County public and private school students, grades K-12, to enter the 30th Annual John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest. Students can tap into their imagination, grab their favorite set of crayons, markers, pencils or paints and create artwork depicting this year’s theme “FLYING: YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW.”

Granting Wishes One Air Mile at a Time
The ‘Trips that Transform’ campaign takes flight during August at John Wayne Airport through a partnership with Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire to help grant wishes for local children battling critical illnesses through the donation of unused, low balance or soon-to-expire airlines miles for American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, or United Airlines.

Navigating through John Wayne Airport just got even easier. New interactive wayfinding signage combines high-tech with convenience, offering access to interactive LED digital touch-screens located in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.
JWA Welcomes Veterans
John Wayne Airport (JWA) welcomed wounded veterans from throughout the United States for a weeklong event with Operation Surf in Huntington Beach. Fifteen active-duty veterans arrived at JWA on June 3 and were greeted by an ovation of volunteers from the Bob Hope USO at JWA, Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), California Highway Patrol (CHP), local law enforcement officers and JWA staff.

Every 65 seconds, someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s Disease. It is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. 5.8 million Americans are currently living with the disease, and it is expected that the number will increase to 14 million by 2050.
